Norwich & District Beekeepers Association
Helping Beekeepers and Honey Bees for over 15 Years

As a community, we must keep both chats polite, civil, and respectful whilst representing NDBKA. Political views must not be shared, and we must follow the BBKA Social Media Code of Conduct (Linked Here). Beekeepers must either pass the BBKA basic exam, or have at least one year of beekeeping experience to be on our swarm hotline WhatsApp group.
When attending a swarm, beekeepers represent both the Norwich Beekeeping Association and the BBKA. It is a condition that no one collects swarms for financial gain. The general public relies on us, so we must be especially careful and mindful of them. Once a swarm is posted, if you can collect immediately, please confirm in the chat that your contacting the member of the public reporting the swarm and then again once your going to collect.
If you can’t collect right away, you may note that you can collect later—e.g., later in the day —but only if no one else has responded.
Always box the swarm, leave it until dusk, and only then return to collect all bees later in the evening.
Public liability insurance must be upheld—no commercial gain, no third-party transfers, and insurance is void if you profit. If you don’t need the swarm, we encourage you to gift it to another member. This helps new beekeepers and ensures swift public assistance.
Repeated breaches will lead to removal from the chat and no invitation to renew membership.
Let’s keep a safe, supportive environment for everyone.
Thank you for your understanding.
